Low-cost test kits can be purchased by going to the Department of Environmental Quality website
There are three options for testing your home:
1) For a low cost test kit from the State of Utah and resources from the Utah Radon
Coordinator, please click here: https://deq.utah.gov/waste-management-and-radiation-control/radon/radon-program
2) For free help with testing, you can visit the Utah Radon Coalition’s Radon Navigator website. The Radon Navigator™ is a free resource with the goal of making radon easier to understand and act on.
It cuts through the confusion created by mixed messages and scare tactics incited
by some mitigation companies and we think offers Utahns clear, steady radon guidance
they can trust.
You can visit them here to learn more about their programs and services: https://www.utahradoncoalition.org/radon-navigator.html
3) You can purchase a radon test kit on Amazon, Home Depot, or Lowes and following
the direction included in your test kit.
If you need further help, you can also email us at t.benney@utah.edu for further assistance and help with your radon issues.
